Barbon Hillclimb

Well, thats Barbon over for another year. Thanks to all the Competitors and Marshalls who helped, no matter how little you did your contribution is vital.

Thanks to the weather and 'new' media for Barbon, we attracted larger crowds that previous years so can look to upgrading some of the areas which need attention for new year.

Foe 2016 we are looking into the possibility of running motorbikes at an new meeting in May, whatch this space for news in Septemebr. As 2015 the National B event will run in June as and the National A event will move to July 5th. .

Barbon Hillclimb is a relatively short but very quick speed hillclimb course just outside the village of Barbon in Cumbria. It may be the shortest hillclimb in the UK, but it is incredibly popular with drivers who enjoy the challenge and geat atmosphere that the venue provides.

In case you don't already know what the hillclimb event is, it's an opportunity for registered competitors to drive their car as quickly as possible up the winding estate road of Barbon Manor, the aim quite simply being to get from the bottom to the top in the shortest possible time.

There are two days of competition on the hill this year, both open to cars from road going family saloons to powerful single seat racing cars.

The July event will include two rounds of the exciting British Hillclimb Championship, featuring several of the top drivers in the national championship on their annual visit to Barbon. The event is also a qualifying round of a number of local and regional championships so you can be sure to see many cars & drivers competing for position in their own championships.
The June event will also be a qualifying round for local & regional championships and will attract even more "Club" competitors to this exciting venue. But don't think that you'll only see less spectacular cars at this event. There'll still be an excellent variety of cars including single seat racing cars and some surprisingly powerful saloon and rally cars too.

In a change to recent years we would like to have a display of motor clubs or owners club at both the May or June Barbon, please contact us here.

Kirkby Lonsdale and Liverpool Motor Clubs are co-promoters of both Car events
