Kirkby Lonsdale Motor Club HANS Hire Service The Head and Neck Support System was introduced into the WRC in 2007 and made compulsory on all international events at the start of 2009. Further to this all events in the Republic of Ireland now require Hans to be used by competitors. In response to this KLMC has bought a Hans device for use of its members. With the Likeliness that all events in the future in the UK are going to make Hans compulsory, KLMC competitors are invited to try the Hans device in their discipline of motor sport. The device is available for any event and can be pre booked in advance from Martyn Taylor. The charge is £40 per rally weekend but also a refundable deposit of £100. The Schroth Pro Series model is the same model used by formula one drivers, as its light weight and allows side to side head movement. It can be used with any helmet with Hans posts fitted. The tethers that connect the Hans to your Helmet are designed to stretch like your safety belts in the car in an accident. For the safety of all the users can the hirer please inform KLMC of any incidents or accident that may have affected the Hans. A new set of tethers may then be deducted from your deposit. Please do not replace the tethers before returning the Hans as we have no way of checking their condition. It is vital that all hirers are honest about this as it could affect the safety of the next person to use the Hans. The Hans device can be collected from the Kendal area before an event and returned to the same address, it is preferable for the Hans to picked up and returned in person. But if this is not possible then it can be posted and should be returned via special delivery with additional insurance to the value of £900 pounds or over.
